Hi, my name is Lesli. I am so excited to have joined Employee Health Benefits (EHB) as your new Benefits Manager. I have had the pleasure of living in Manatee County for 42 years. My last almost 9 years have been spent working as the Benefits Administrator for the Manatee County School District. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to learn about the benefits offered by Manatee County Government by establishing a wonderful working relationship with Kim Stroud. I also learned about this plan through prior employees who insisted that the School District needed to offer benefits like Manatee County Government. The health plan offered by Manatee County Government is the town envy, and I am excited to be a part of this program and to work with a fantastic team that helps keeps things running for our employees.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband Daniel, and two daughters Claire (21) and Brooke (14). This past year we have enjoyed following our daughter Claire around as she has been the reigning Hernando DeSoto Princess, representing the Hernando Desoto Historical Society. The next few months will keep us busy as her reign comes to an end. Our daughter Brooke is a Freshman at Parrish Community High School. She has played volleyball will be starting softball in the Spring. We are crazy animal people and have a small farm with 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 cows and 2 pigs that just left for the fair.
I am a firm believer that being healthy goes far deeper than not getting sick and having to visit a doctor. Preventative medicine, in my opinion, is the key to cure. The more proactive we are in maintaining our health through regular visits to our doctor, moderate exercise, and fulfilling life experiences, the healthier we will be. The Employee Health Plan that is offered by the County most certainly follows my personal philosophy with the multiple programs that are offered.
I look forward to embracing my job by providing guidance for the staff of Manatee YourChoice Health Plan and to be of service to those who participate in the health plan and wellness benefits.
