On Friday, November 22nd, 26 brave participants from around the County competed against each other in a timed obstacle course all in the name of charity.
13 teams of 2 completed 8 obstacles that challenged even the most fit among them, including cardio endurance, burpees, and battle ropes. Allison Minardi, Fitness Coordinator and Personal Trainer, completed the challenge in 3:38 (see the video here) and challenged teams to beat her time and win a free lunch. In the end, 2 teams beat the trainer, and the winning team will be enjoying lunch courtesy of Allison. Teams donated non-perishable food items to the Food Bank of Manatee in order to participate. In the end, every team completed the challenge, had a ton of fun, and gave back to the community.
The aptly-named team, The Winners (David Bocchino & Issac Redmond), won with a time of 3:21.78. In second place, Too Hobble to Wobble completed the course in 3:33.23, and The Upgrades came in 3rd with a final time of 3:48.96
A few individuals also competed in the plank and wall sit challenges - as if the obstacle course wasn't enough of a challenge.
Coreen Hopkins held a plank for 9min 4sec while Hoang Le held a wall sit for 2min 50sec!
