County Employees Provide a Friendly Face for Beachgoers

Kim Stroud
Human Resources Director

Activities that enhance personal and organizational wellbeing have proven to be effective in building strong and resilient communities, families and organizations. There are 5 areas of wellbeing that we in Human Resources and Employee Benefits are focused on: Financial, Career, Social/Community, Physicial, and Emotional.  There are daily opportunities for our employees to strengthen their wellbeing by engaging in one of these areas.

Over the last 2 weeks, we saw many employees focusing on their social/community wellbeing in their volunteer work to help Code Enforcement when the beaches were re-opened. We know that when people engage in activities that support a cause or an initiative, it creates a higher sense of wellbeing for them. Employees from all departments stepped up to help support our Code Enforcement staff and our community.  We heard from John Barnott, Director of Building and Development Services, that our employee volunteers were the “friendly face” of Manatee County.  Take a look at this VIDEO and see how our volunteers greeted beach visitors with a smile and used that time to show our community the culture of pride and service that is part of our foundation at Manatee County Government.
