A Year In Review

A Year In Review
Kim Stroud, MA, LMHC
Employee Benefits Manager

As this 2016 year comes to an end, we at YourChoice Health Plan want to say THANK YOU for your efforts and engagement in our programs throughout the year. We are inspired and motivated by employees across this County who are transforming their lives by engaging in the programs and resources offered by the County.

Some of your accomplishments this year are:
  • FitNuts
95% of Fit Nuts participants made three or more improvements in their fitness level, and the average participant was involved for almost 7.5 months. That tells us that you are committed for the long-term, not just trying to make short-term changes.
  • Tobacco
24 plan members quit tobacco during plan year 2016, and an additional 35 completed their second-year tobacco free! Congratulations to everyone who has quit tobacco!
  • Exercise Management
439 of you engaged in regular exercise and earned an incentive for that activity. Keep up the great work!
  • YWeight
2,251 adult members participated in this weight management incentive program, and over 50% of those participating either maintained or lost weight. We’re so proud of all of you who are trying to maintain a healthy weight, and your successes inspire us to do the same.

I also want to take this time to say THANK YOU to the staff at Employee Health Benefits. If it were not for this group of really passionate, innovative and hard working professionals, our program would not be what it is today. Our team truly cares about you and your family members, and have a genuine desire to help people achieve their highest level of well-being. Whether it’s related to nutrition, fitness, chronic conditions, stress or depression, the team continues to be energized by your efforts and are continually working on new ideas to help you become your best self.

As you embark on 2017, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the past year and remind yourself of your accomplishments; we all have them, large or small! Be proud of your efforts! Even just thinking about making health/wellness related changes is a step in the right direction. Take some time to really consider what you want for yourself at the end of 2017 and start setting small, achievable goals. We are here to serve you and your family members - just let us know how we can help!

Here’s to a healthy and rewarding New Year!
