Prevent Diabetes

You can prevent diabetes!

You have the opportunity now to prevent Type 2 Diabetes. In fact, you have a 66% chance of NOT developing diabetes by becoming a bit more active, eating healthier and losing some weight. We know that making healthy choices can be difficult, so we’d like to support you in these efforts.

Take this simple quiz to help determine if you at risk for Type 2 Diabetes.

Less than 10% of people with pre-diabetes know they are at risk

A brand new online program for members at risk of developing type 2 diabetes is available through our partner, Omada! In order to participate, all you need to do is complete your Qualifying Event Blueprint Lab Work at Quest. If your lab results indicate that you are at risk for type 2 diabetes, Omada will contact you and invite you to sign up.

Criteria:

  • A1C of 5.7 or greater OR
  • Fasting Blood Glucose of 100 mg/dl or greater

AND

  • BMI of 25.0 or greater OR
  • Waist circumference of 35” or greater for women, or 40” or greater for men.

NOTE: Those who have been diagnosed with diabetes are not eligible to particiapte in this program. Please contact Florey Miller for information about available resources.

Meet Your Diabetes Educator

Florey Miller, MS, RD, CDE

Registered Dietitian / Diabetes Educator

Florey is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and has been a Certified Diabetes Educator since 1999. Her background includes working as clinical dietitian for Blake Medical Center, as diabetes educator at Doctors Hospital and she had a private practice in a cooking school.
